CA Oil & Gas Middle East is looking for a DESIGN TEAM LEADER for a Oil & Gas Client in the UAE.

Reports/ directs Reports to: Discipline Head
Directs: Functioning group of Engineers & Designers for the project
Job summary
Leads & helps managing the design teams for safe, operable and economic designs ranging conceptual, front-end, detailed design & close-out
Ensures the designs meet the quality and agreed project requirements
Performs as Lead Engineer and executes project design works
Main business processes
- Management Day to day planning and management of the design works; attend technical meetings with clients and lead the project.
- Quality/HSE Performs discipline check and Inter-discipline check of documents
Ensures that the required integrity and quality of the work is maintained
Familiar with the Quality/HSE Management system and their procedures
Ensures timely corrective actions for the identified non-conformities
- Project Execution Executes the engineering & design works within budget and schedule
Co-ordinates with other disciplines & resolves the engineering issues
Provides engineering inputs during all design phases including interpretation and challenge of standards
Actively communicates with other disciplines to optimise areas of interface, during the design development, review and check processes
Ensures design packages meet the relevant safety, environmental & ergonomic standards
Discusses with support engineers and designers regularly on scope, man-hours and schedule etc
Prepares technical reports, tender documents, bill of quantities, evaluate technical bids & reviews Vendor / third party documents
Participates in the Technical reviews and progress review of projects
Familiar with the Company procedures and international standards & codes
- Business Development Visits Clients, attends seminars/ work shops and makes Technical presentations
- Proposals Reviews the scope of work and seeks clarifications for ambiguous /
Incomplete / incorrect information
Assists Discipline heads in preparing man-hour estimates
- Planning & Scheduling Provides input to the project execution planning and scheduling
- Contracting & Procurement Identifies project specific engineering and design elements which requires sub-contracting
Supporting processes
- Human resources Coaches and develops junior staff to fulfil discipline engineering roles
Helps facilitates team building
Job Requirements
Language: Good command on spoken and written English
Education: Masters degree or Bachelors’ degree in Civil Engineering with relevant experience. Preferably a Chartered Engineer and member of CIWEM, or equivalent
Professional Experience:
15 years relevant experience in Engineering with minimum of 5 years as a Lead design engineer on major water supply projects. Should be proficient in use of design software such as WaterCAD. Proficiency in surge analysis (transient analysis) will be an added advantage.
Sound technical knowledge of related discipline
Good knowledge of organisation and system procedures
General knowledge of management techniques, MM’s business processes and core values of ‘PRIDE’.
