Cameroon
The Cameroon Oil sector accounts for 40% of export earnings and is situated on the oil-rich eastern border of Nigeria. It is the sixth largest oil producer in Sub-Saharan Africa. The country also has gas reserves, valued at 110 billion cubic metres (bcm) that are still unexploited. It is therefore easy to comprehend why the upstream oil industry is an important part of Cameroon’s economy.
However let’s not forget about the downstream oil industry in Cameroon as this also has an important influence on the country’s economy and has the ability to become a prominent oil transport centre.
