rstyWhat industry do you work in and what exactly are your skills?

I work within the Oil & Gas field (Production Operation Term) and my skills are field operators and foreman, managing and operating all field production equipment such as: well head, gathering lines, pumps, separators, tanks, heaters, test equipment, sampling, pigging …etc.

 

What inspired you to get into this sort of industry?

I wanted to get into this industry because it is vastly growing and developing.

What qualifications and experience did you have to gain In order to establish yourself and therefore become a professional within your industry?

HSE courses and training as well as various new equipment operating courses.

What is the most challenging aspect within your field of work?

The most challenging aspect in this field of work is carrying out the job in a safe way by implementing the correct procedures.

By following the correct HSE & operating procedures and ensuring 100% its implementation.

What has been the highlight of your career?

Just the fact that since the start of my career my hard work and management has not come to an end.

If somebody starts as a trainee / beginner within your line of work, what could they earn in salary?

Roughly 400 to 500 USD per month. 

What can this person expect to earn after 10 years of experience?

Depending on certain variable roughly 3000 to 6000USD per month.           

Who is your role model and why?

People from around the world who are honest and trustworthy I see as role models as they can perform without censorship.

What motivates you to work this hard?

To find out good jobs with big international companies to get more experience and skills.     

What is your outlook within your industry over the next 5 years?

To keep improving my skills so that I am able to advance my position and earn additional skills through the achievement of up-to-date course certificates.

As you know, numerous African countries are being invested in due to their rich minerals. Which country within Africa do you think will be the next hot spot and why?

Even though there are so many African countries that are doing exceptionally well in terms of their economies, my answer for this question would be South Sudan because of its oilfields.
