What industry do you work in and what exactly are your skills?

I work within the field of Applied Chemical Science and Environmental Engineering. My skills are Teaching, Water and Waste  treatment, Health & Safety Environmental monitoring.

What inspired you to get into this sort of industry?

The UNFORTUNATE nature and living conditions of people in general amid this industry. 

What qualifications and experience did you have to gain In order to establish yourself and therefore become a professional within your industry?

  • BSc. Degree in Chemistry
  • MSc. Degree in Environmental Engineering
  • Certificate in Water and waste water treatment.
  • Certificate in Biological water quality monitoring system
  • Certificate in Ground water modelling
  • Certificate in Hardware and Software maintenance.
  • I am Second year postgraduate student of Developmental Economics

What is the most challenging aspect within your field of work?

The most challenging aspect I experience within my field of work is the effort required to change the attitudes of people from negative to positive.

How do you manage and overcome these challenges?

Through the creation of  awareness;

Striving to be a role model;

Through practical examples.

What has been the highlight of your career?

Simply the fact that I am building a career that means a lot to me;  tackling the problems that are hazardous to nature and  the environment.

If somebody starts as a trainee / beginner within your line of work, what could they earn in salary? 

Roughly 4,000 USD

What can this person expect to earn after 10 years of experience?

Roughly 10,000USD

Trying to achieve change concerning the problems linked to the natural environment motivates me to work hard. 

What is your outlook within your industry over the next 5 years?

To maintain an optimistic frame of mind, regardless of how challenging times may be, and to enhance my skills so that I can build a strong career path for myself.

As you know, numerous African countries are being invested in due to their rich minerals. Which country within Africa do you think will be the next hot spot and why?

In all honesty, I believe every African country has the potential to achieve vast economic and social development.
