What industry do you work in and what exactly are your skills?
I work in the field of Chemical and Process Systems Engineering where I am actively involved in the manufacture of chemicals at an Industrial scale as well as industrial processes which include mineral processing, materials processing and material handling.
What inspired you to get into this sort of industry?
I got into this industry because of the big challenges and exciting opportunities. Therefore, this industry offers me the opportunity to utilise my innovation and creativity skills.
What qualifications and experience did you have to gain In order to establish yourself and therefore become a professional within your industry?
I hold a B Tech Honours Degree in Chemical and Process Systems Engineering.
What is the most challenging aspect within your field of work?
Coming up with working solution for any given problem.
How do you manage and overcome these challenges?
I am a hard working and dedicated person. I also enjoy reading, investigating and challenging your own assumptions which help me it providing techno-economic, optimal and feasible solution to any given task.
What has been the highlight of your career?
I successfully prepared, submitted and presented a research paper for the Research Intellectual Expo Zimbabwe. Titled,’Feasibility of extracting Alumina from coal ash.’
I optimized the whole paint manufacturing process for a paint manufacturing company and increased the company revenue by 18%.

Who is your role model and why?
Clever Matiringe, my dad. He taught me the engineers’ approach to every challenge: strategic, efficient and pragmatic.
What motivates you to work this hard?
I love and enjoy my field of work. Having a proven track record as an achiever motivates me to work hard.
What is your outlook within your industry over the next 5 years?
I am looking forward to making a long commitment to my next job. Although academically I would like have obtained a post graduate degrees in metallurgy and Mining Engineering and another in Operations and Supply Chain Management, within the next 5 years.
As you know, numerous African countries are being invested in due to their rich minerals. Which country within Africa do you think will be the next hot spot and why?
Zambia because the country has a lot of unexplored mineral resources.
