I work in the Oil & Gas Industry.

I have always loved being, being able to travel and to learn new areas of expertise in this field. There are always new ways to use and conserve energy, with other products.
What qualifications and experience did you have to gain In order to establish yourself and therefore become a professional within your industry?
In America you may well know that certifications are a little different than other countries therefore in my situation I learned from ground up on all heavy equipment and main line gas products as well; from fusing machines, to electro fusion. Currently I am following up with more experience on the water industry side with the same electro fusion products that we use to weld the pipe together, as well as the services.
What is the most challenging aspect within your field of work?
The most challenging and well exciting aspect in my line of work is that I run into so many different and difficult ways to run the main lines underground, from cities, to Forts, to Highways. We have to maintain and update what is underground before we dig due to electrical lines, cables, lines, sewers, etc.
How do you manage and overcome these challenges?
I manage to pay close attention to the maps of the locations of where everything is. I always go over our schedule with my guys in the morning to let them get updated as well concerning what or how things are going to be managed.
What has been the highlight of your career?
My best highlight in my career so far has been when I was in the military and in charge of 54 soldiers over 120 pieces of equipment amounting to 5 million dollars for which I received the highest medal ever.
If somebody starts as a trainee / beginner within your line of work, what could they earn in salary?
USD 17.50 to USD 22.50 per hour depending on how long one has been with the company.
Who is your role model and why?
Arnold Schwarzenegger cause he never ever quits.
What motivates you to work this hard?
My children motivate me to work hard.

Over the next 5 years or hopefully sooner I will work my way up to area supervisor, I will be able to look over up to or around 20 crews, which consist up to 6 men per crew.
As you know, numerous African countries are being invested in due to their rich minerals. Which country within Africa do you think will be the next hot spot and why?
Mbalam iron ore project, between Cameroon and the Republic of Congo.
For me it doesn’t really matter where I go in Africa. I have been in some of the worst places on earth in the military. So I guess I am ready for what may hopefully come my way.
